Immerse Yourself into Israeli Society Through the Kitchen Door
When?
Trip Dates: September 22-29, 2024
What is a Culinary Journey?
A culinary journey transcends mere physical travel.
It encompasses cultural immersion and transformative experiences that deepen your connection to Israel and it’s people through food.
Accommodation will be provided at boutique hotels, ensuring both comfort and luxury. However, this is far more than a regular visit; participants will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful encounters, activities, volunteering, and learning more about the local culture and day-to-day life.
Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Israeli communities, diving into the varied ethnicities and their distinct cuisines that have woven themselves into the fabric of Israeli culture. Trace the evolution of culinary traditions, from biblical times to the cutting-edge of today's FoodTech innovations.
Aliza Grayevsky Somekh: Createor of the Journey
For Aliza, organizing a culinary journey to Israel has been dream for the last few years.
Aliza has had a long career in informal education and Israeli culture. She's also the chef and founder of BishulimSF. Her service aims at making the best match of contemporary Israeli cuisine and California tradition and produce.
Aliza is an eighth-generation Jerusalemite. Raised in the kitchens of Jerusalem, she grew up cooking and eating everything the city's streets and markets had to offer. Growing up in Jerusalem makes her intimately familiar with Jerusalem's culinary collision of flavors and cultures. It is that 'best of all worlds' touch that she tries to bring into her cooking.
